This is more of a “mini” trip report covering my most recent trip to the Kruger National Park.
In South Africa we have a lot of public holidays, particular around April/May. Not so great for the economy but a great opportunity to get away to the bush for a few days. Given the popularity of the Kruger Park we had booked a two bedroomed chalet at Talamati Bushveld Camp a year in advance.
A bushveld camp is ideal during Kruger’s busier times as there are no restaurants / shops and a limited number of accommodation units (15 for Talamati). Talamati also has the benefit of two hides, one of which overlooks a floodlit waterhole. So if you feel like it, you can lookout for game 24/7. We had a fantastic time at Talamati and would highly recommend it as a great place to get away, even during Kruger’s busiest periods.
During our trip we were lucky enough to see 4 or the big 5 (only rhino alluded us) as well as a magnificent cheetah sighting. A few of my photos from the trip are below.
